Nimul AntiStat 163
Ethoxylated fatty amine. Antistatic additive for plastics: polyolefins (PE, PP) and styrenics.
Description
Nimul AntiStat 163 is a custom blend of liquid ethoxylated fatty amines. It is used as an internal or external antistatic additive for polyolefins (PE, PP) and styrenics. It migrates to the polymer surface, where it works with moisture in the air to dissipate static charge. It can also be used as an anti-fouling agent in gas phase polyolefin reactors.
Chemical name: Ethanol, 2,2'-iminobis-, N-C12-18-alkyl derivs. Also known as N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl) C12-18 alkylamine.
Features and applications
- Long-lasting antistatic effect
- Added as supplied or through a masterbatch
- Suited to film, injection moulding and flat bar extrusion
- For PE, PP and clear and opaque styrenics
Typical use level
- PE (LDPE, HDPE): 0.1 to 0.2 % w/w of polymer
- PP (film, BOPP, injection moulding): 0.1 to 0.2 % w/w of polymer
- Styrenics (PS, HIPS, ABS, SAN): 1 to 4 % w/w of polymer
Typical starting levels. Suitability must be confirmed by the user through trials.
